Southern Baptists have gathered in Greensboro

Not so far away in Greensboro, the Southern Baptist Convention is meeting so that messengers can settle some differences, do some business and elect some officers.

That annual event is more on the Web this year than ever before. Much of what they're doing has been discussed, worked out and fought out in a year of blog discussions.

All of this constructive and produtive effort was facilitated by Net Neutrality, which may disappear before the Baptists gather like that again.

Perhaps it is not too much to hope that they will put aside theological and other differences for a moment to remind their elected representatives that attempting to steamroller the Baptists like that is a bad idea.
